My aunt e-mailed this to me tonight and I enjoyed it so much I wanted to share it. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did!! I wasn't alive in 1957 but thought this was GREAT! :-P

If you were alive in 1957 and old enough to enjoy Rock and Roll, you will probably remember the group, "The Diamonds" who had just launched their super hit "Little Darlin' ". This should bring back a few memories. Ahhh yes, the good old days. Nice to see some things getting better with age!
Watch the first one then scroll down for the new one 47 years later. This is good.

One of my mom's favorites

I love oldies! That's the stuff she always had on while I was growing up.

Remember "Tammy"? (Tammy's in love) That one is one of my favorites.

I love listening to music like that. Thanks for sharing.

Reminded me of my brother. He always had music on at his place. Usually 5 or 6 knob turns to loud! He was worse than my daughter for LOUD!

I love the old songs from the 50's, they were happy songs and also boogie woogie music from the 40's, as well as rock n roll, country and the blues. Is this the song Tammy's in Love?

I was alive and remember it well. What a difference to the music the kids listen to today.

Our local PBS station produces a lot of "DooWop" shows with all the old original groups taking part and singing their songs. I always donate/pledge at this time. The gift for pledging was a set of 5 doowop cds--I love them; they are the greatest songs to quilt along with LOL. I'm old but not as old as some of these great songs.
Thanks for posting this.

PBS also has many shows featuring the easy listening singers from the 50's/60's -- Rosemary Clooney, Patti Page, Pat Boone, The Ames Brothers, etc.. I was born in '48 and my mom had this music on the radio all the time. It's part of my childhood and growing up. I just love it!

BabyCakes 06-17-2011 08:14 AM

Yes I remember them. Great group back then and now. Thanks for sharing.

I remember all the music from the 50's 60's and 70's. This brings back so many memories of growing up and listening to the radio. Now kids can't entertain themselves without electronics. I always buy the grand kids good solid toys like wooden blocks and lincoln logs where they can used their imaginations to play. thanks for sharing
