Recently I ran across a book that is new to me, but definitely not new. I managed to get it from the library, just to see what information it has.

Weldon's Encyclopedia of Needlework
(no copyright date)

has a section on quilting, but also on embroidery, lace, smocking, etc. I'm finding it interesting reading up on all the different techniques that were common practice 'back in the day.'

Do any of you have a book that you would recommend for quilting and/or needlework of any kind?

there is a Beeton's Book of Needlework that is fun to flip through. (originally published in 1870)

I have a set of books from Rodale . There are 15 books. they cover so much.The set is called Rodale's Successful Quilting Library. I use it a lot. I have another collection of books on different aspects of embriodry. i have some older books like mentioned here. They are great reading.

Yes, I am! I very much enjoy going through the older books and seeing how things were done before the machines did all our embroidery, etc. Thanks for the links!
