Returning tv shows?
 

...wondering if mike & Molly will be back......tried looking on line for info, no luck........Also, elementary, Poldark and outlander.......some of this " new" stuff is really dumb! Just wondering........tried watching Indian Summers on WTTW......will not continue.....anything out there that you like to watch?

Mike and Molly should be on next month. Believe I saw that a while back. You're right some of this new stuff is really stupid. We often go to channels like TBS for beginning BBT shows and few others. not a whole lot out there. I often go to You Tube and watch a lot of the quilt and sewing videos and some others. More often than not I hit the sewing room and make amess

There is going to be a new Vet show who lives in Alaska. I think it is on Animal Planet. I have never understood British movies or TV shows dealing with India during the Victorian years. Looking forward to Downton Abbey.

Speaking of vet shows......like dr pol, but really dislike the son!.......there was another vet from Hawaii show, but I understand the vet died.......

i rarely watch the major networks anymore. even the 'news' shows have too many commercials, spend too much time telling us what is coming up, and do not go into depth. the comedy shows are too much like that cheese commercial... immature humor.

and seems like everything is about the zombies or vampires too.
Not to much good stuff on. we are now watching old games shows.
Regular tv is getting to be the pits.

I think Mike and Molly will be returning, not sure of date. Odd that the show is returning so much later than most of the other shows.

I have not managed to watch a full episode of (new) Castle yet. I do usually watch the older episodes which I enjoy.

I have watched the few new episodes of Bones.

As for the alphabet networks' programming, it's all about demographics / specifically, age.

I would be described as "early-mid-century vintage"... not much that appeals to me in the current TV line-up. I generally enjoy DIY (but, most of those programs degenrate into infomercials for big-box home improvement stores or on-line furniture stores), HGTV has deteriorated into one continuous "looking for a new place to live" series of shows. When I can find them, I enjoy Salvage Dawgs, Building Alaska, and Barnwood Builders -- all of which are DYI shows, but they do include added content about background, techniques, and history. Oh, add Rehab Addict to the list. And, when all else fails, my husband and I will endure a San Francisco 49'ers football game. Whew! What a lousy team they've become. Never been a Raiders fan, but at least they have QB who knows where to throw the ball or is creative enough to modify the play based on the opponent's defense. Did enjoy watching the Seattle / Raiders game on TV yesterday.

All I can really say, is I'm delighted we have a DVR, enabling us to search and find programs we like, to record.

I think Outlander will be back in the fall sometime. I am looking forward to that one!!!! I love the books and the show both. My DD and I got to meet the author, Diana Gabaldon, last December along with Graham McTavish, who plays Dougal McKenzie in the show. They are wonderful people!!!

I'm with you on enjoying the DYI shows that you mentioned. Also like watching Foyles War and The Artful Detective on one of the BBC channels we can get. We're waiting for Major Crimes to start again.

I love most any thing on PBS. Have a different feeling about Mike and Molly since watching her movie Spy. Talk about dumb and the language, my husband went to bed instead of finishing it.

Have not seen that movie, but have seen previous ones and yes the movies she is in are dumb and kindergarten humor.....but there's a lot of that going around lately, it seems....and I'm sure the $$$$$ are rollin' in!!!!!!!


RE: sports on regular channels....hate it...I am not any kind of SPORT fan......I wish all of that would have its own channel(s) so regular broadcasting needn't be interrupted/delayed......JMHO.......

I believe that Outlander season 2 will be in the Spring. I've seen dates ranging from March-May. I do love that show. Foyles War is also a favorite along with Last Tango In Halifax which I hope will be back. I watch mostly British TV with my Roku so much so that it seems perfectly normal when they get in the other side of the car to drive!

I have stuck with the PBS series Indian Summers, why I don't know. I find it boring and more then confusing the way they jump from one story to another. I believe there might be only one more episode left for which I'll be grateful.

Like others, we have moved to PBS, Discovery, ME (old 50s shows), Science, History. Major networks are too violent and too explicit.

On regular TV its NCIS and NCIS New Orleans - Bones - Castle and Big Bang. I only have basic cable so the 3 favorite channels are Disney - USA and TVland I can watch reruns of the shows I grew up watching. Occasionally SyFy will show Star Trek or Harry Potter type movies. October is the worst month of all.

Just started watching some of the reruns of Big Bang - kind of funny once you give it a chance.

I was just telling DH that I was getting fed up with American made TV shows. They are made for the dumb and dumber set. A few years ago, a major TV show had the heroine kill 7 men at one time and later she was making jokes at dinner. We now watch a show and point out all the stupid things they do that are not realistic at all. We have enjoyed Netflix a great deal watching a shows from beginning to end. Just finished Longmire last night.

I have what I call 'country cable" I have just regular TV an antena. so listen to music or books on tape from my local library. don't want to spend money on shows I feel are dumb.

We've watched Indian Summers as well, but also find it REALLY hard to follow. My husband and I thought that perhaps we missed an episode or two and that was why we were having a hard time following the story line, but I guess we're not alone. Love Foyle's War and Dr. Blake Mysteries. I think the episodes we've seen though are older and we're not sure if the show will return or not. In the last episode Dr. Blake was off to Singapore to find his daughter. Hope he comes back:)!!!! Also like Downton Abbey.... sad that January begins the final season. Love Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries and Home Fires. Wow, I guess almost everything we watch with the exception on NCIS, Bones and Major Crimes is something on PBS. I can still remember filing into our assembly hall on Tuesday mornings to watch "New Math" being taught on PBS. I guess "we've come a long way baby!"

I'm enjoying the BBC Indian Summer series. Hubster and I also like Madame Secretary, Chicago Fire and Chicago PD, Criminal Minds, Limitless, The Blacklist, The Player, The Amazing Race, Last Man Standing, Blue Bloods, CSI: Cyber, The Mysteries of Laura, Blindspot, and The Voice. We record them, usually watching 2 in an evening. If one of us gets sick that person usually watching a few more. I thought it was a pretty good season. I am excited tfor Major Crimes to come back and we look forward to Downton Abbey.

My guilty pleasure as my son calls it is Project Runway. I love following the designers and they are genuinely nice people now unlike when the show first started. My 13 year old and I also love The Middle and the Goldbergs, middle America humor.

Poldark will be returning, along with Sherlock and Downton Abbey around January. The Poldark is pretty faithful to the ten novels, so far at least. My darling DIL and I love The Great British Bake show, although there are only two programs remaining. I'm missing Person of Interest, even though it had gotten itself into a rabbit's hole, from which I couldn't see much future. I love the PBS/BBC programs, even the difficult-to-follow Indian Summer, because they bring many eras alive by explaining the contexts. It's easy to see why Indians wanted to be free of the Raj, when you see how they were treated by the Brits; but then we see Home Front, which takes place only 5 years later in Britain and we see how "ordinary" Brits faced the War. I loved Foyle's War, which showed both the heroism and the war-profiteering that went on during the War. Then came Call the Midwives and Bletchly Circle, where we saw that the after-effects of the War lasted for years, with rationing not ending until the early 1950's. It's amazing that, with all the devastation shown in Midwives, the Brits were able to rebuild and to try to rectify centuries of inequalities by offering health care to all. My favorite program is still on, but I can't get it on Dish, which dropped Ovation just before the end of the current season of The Artful Detective/Murdock Mysteries. I'm going to have to break down and find out how to get and use Netflix. Then I'll be able to keep getting full episodes of the British Antiques Roadshow.

Elementary will be back in November. Just show a promo for it the other day.

I miss "Galavant." It was supposed to return, but I haven't seen it. It was a hoot.

I'm another one who is disappointed in what is on TV these days. So tired of horror shows and lame reality shows along with all the phony drama that is added. I like Last Man Standing, Poldark, Doc Martin, Downton Abby. I watch Home Fires just because it's there and not in love with Indian Summer. Bones I like--they have managed that marriage and separation much better than that on Castle which I have a hard time watching now--still haven't figured out why they are separated. Those of us in Alaska have a lot of laughs about the absurdity of the Alaska shows--you'd think we still live without electricity and all the finer things in life. Mostly we have TV on just for the sake of noise--lol.

We watch a lot of PBS. When I sew, it's sometimes Hallmark, which is predictable, but sweet. What I am tired of is everything seems to start or lead to killing, murder and death. I do enjoy family sagas and history type programs...American Pickers is good...my Dad was quite a collector, so I enjoy seeing what things bring.

I like a variety of shows. For fun I watch The Middle and Big Bang. I am hooked on Walking Dead, it's not about zombies, zombies are just in it. Netflix and Amazon have great original programming. I also watch Acorn TV which has BBC miniseries and shows. I finished watching the new season of Longmire two episodes at a time.

I have been watching Code Black, a series that takes place in the ER of a hospital. This is its first year, but it is really good. I am hoping it gets renewed.

OMG....watched that, first time last nite...nothing else on that I would have preferred....too fast, too much going on, and what was the thing with pool chlorine gas causing death....I have a pool.....should I be concerned?????? I will not watch it again.....if nothing on tv, I will shut off and read a book! I have been in ERs....nobody moved that fast and that efficiently that I observed......
