Good news is not interesting. People like to see other people suffer/worse off than they are. IMHO Also, I lived through a family tragedy. A friend finally called the paper and told them we'd suffered enough & to stop.

I've been on RCCL numerous times and have never had a complaint. When I read the first article on the fire, I thought, "Wow! They sure did handle that right!!" You're right, the media is always looking to slant the news to the negative so that it sells! I'm glad that you're home safely and that they handled it so well!!

I watch the news in the morning. Everything after that is repetitious and really doesn't bear repeating. I've gotten to where I don't watch the news unless it's local and then that has a lot to be desired. I read the newspaper mainly for the comics (I need a good laugh to start my day) and my coffee. 15 minutes a day is more than enough.

RCCL wanted to make sure not to have all the negative publicity like Carnival did a few months ago. It sounds like they did everything correctly and took good care of all of you. We have cruised numerous times on RCCL and loved it every time.

Mainstream media ignores truth or outright lies about a lot of things these days, morality seems to be lacking anymore with them.

Glad the crew took good care of you and the other passengers.

So glad everything worked out in your favor and that you are OK. I have sailed on RC and I can't say anything negative about them. I can't say the same for some other cruise lines.

That may not be true of Carnival Lines. The press and locals from recent cruises indicate..well I best not say, except recent cruises were not the "Love Boat".

As I'm watching all of the media posts regarding this incident, I'm getting annoyed at how hard they are looking for negative news to report. As a passenger on the boat, I have to say the Captain and crew kept things well controlled, took excellent care of all passengers and have gon above and beyond in compensation to it's passengers. I would gladly board a Royal Caribbean cruise tomorrow without hesitation!
