I hope the dress is better than Diana's, that was a disaster. I think she single-handedly started the whole trend to simple wedding dresses with that dress.

I would like to see Kate start a new trend by NOT having a strapless gown.

i don't think the dress will be strapless. Not quite the attire for the Abbey. My guess is something simple but floaty, definitely, not meringue. Perhaps a train, as that seems to be traditional with Royal brides.
