Santa

I am almost finished with this gourd, but wanted to show the photo before I varnish. Varnish sometimes causes too much shine when I photograph. It is a fairly large gourd, I am think 24 inches in circumference at its widest, and maybe 12 inches or so tall. We are going to put a little clip on light inside to shine through the star cutouts. Thanks for looking.

I don't work with gourds too much...every so often I will get one out. People like them though.

It's gorgeous! I believe gourd decorating is coming back, or already is. I've seen quite a few lately for the holidays. Have to say what little I can see, love your view.

That is gorgeous, I have a neighbor who paints on gourds and also rocks, she is very talented as are you. Love the Santa

GOURDgious !!! Do you grow and dry your own gourds or is there a source for purchasing them!! Just never had any luck drying any myself.

Your Santa gourd is just too cute. I have made things using gourds years ago like little bird feeders that were cute but nothing as awesome as yours but it was fun. I used my little Dremmel tool for cutting shapes or to cut them in half or whatever. I wished I had the talent to paint but I just don't have it but I sure admire those of you that do. Great job!

I used to do a lot more painting on gourds several years ago, so still have some of that inventory. I have never had success with growing gourds. I do have to clean the gourds I have, inside and out...that's bad enough.
