Does anyone have it? How is it? How is the reception? DH wants to get it but they said there is a minimum $99 service call if you need service, like if the wind blows your dish out of alignment. And we have a lot of wind.
I am always nervous about hidden charges and such. I would appreciate any advice, thanks.

We have Wildblue and find now we could not live without it! The wind itself does not affect the position it is in since they have it bolted down really well. However, during winter we had to go out and use a long handled brush to move the snow off of it. So much better than dial up!!

We got rid of dish, and now have NetFlix. We LOVE it! And it's nice, since we can't have cable so far out of town here.

I have Pinebelt satellite internet and it works great. It is the only way I can get internet and TV as I am so rural there are no lines run out here. I'm lucky to have phone and electric. Did have Hughes.net but went with local company as the price is so much lower. No problem with winds, and I live in Alabama so we have had plenty of wind lately. Some times it is slower when very heavy rain, same as satellite TV, which I also have from Dish.

Hughes.net and Direct TV. We are rural and in windy Illinois! We are very happy w/both. "sometimes" we lose reception thanks to bitter cold (under zero degrees) but nothing is perfect.

Here are a couple of things noone will tell you. Hughesnet you get 750mb download per day bandwidth .wildblue or internet thru dishnetwork you never actually start over it is called a rolling policy(can't think of what I want to say) Let me try to explain it . What ever you use today will not come off of your usage of bandwidth until the next month day 5.Bandwidth is a biggie with just doing normal surfing and updates to antivirus ,not windows update included here. We are always around 50% of bandwidth useage. When you hit 70% they slow you down to dial up speed.Any questions just ask

I live on top of a hill and have a metal roof so Direct TV put my dish on the ground. Works fine. I pay 5.99 a month for service.
