In Search of Bosch Mixer

I'm interested in a Bosch Mixer, if anyone has one, let me know.

My sister has one and Looooves it! She has had it for about 20 years and it keeps on running, thru 4 kids, baking for this and that and cooking for everyone and farm hands.

Do they still make them?
I have one that will be 25-30 years old, combo of mixer, blender, food processor, chopper, etc..

It's like an army tank ... almost indestructable!

Yes they still make them. There is a bosch store down the street from me. I have had mine for at least 20 years and we use it all the time. Still runs perfectly. Should it quit. I will replace it ASAP.

That is what I'm reading about them. The prices are so high, that is why I was wondering if anyone was ready to part with their mixer.

I can only imagine the price now ... it was quite costly when I got mine.
What is the current price range?

Yes, I own one of these awesome mixers. I purchased one for my niece when she married as well. I make loads of bread, etc. and it is definitely the workhorse of mixers. Well worth the investment. They are less expensive now then when I purchased mine and the same workhorse quality. Bosch.com will get you lots of information (smile). Happy hunting; you won't be sorry.

this is who i went thru when i got mine about 6 years ago. it never stops working and is absolutely fantastic. i put it to a test with one egg white in that great big bowl and it whipped it and peaked it perfectly. i know they are kind of spendy but definitely worth it and pleasant hill grain has some awesome things!!

The model now is Bosch Universal Plus and starts at $399.00 without blender, and goes up in price on different sites.

Mine is probably about 30 years old. I can easily mix 6 loaves of bread at one time (12+ cups of flour). The new models are smaller and I think have an even stronger motor. It's an incredible machine, a very worthwhile investment.

Wow! They sound awesome!!

Do the new models still have the bowl with the centre tube in it?? (kind of like a bundt pan)
That's the only thing I didn't like about it ... awkward to scrape out batters, etc.

I LOVE my Bosch. There are a couple models. I prefer the one with the "center tube" because it is such a wonderful dough hook. It will knead several loaves at one time. My MIL has the one without the "center tube" which is much smaller and it didn't stand up to time as well (we've had ours since 1987 and they have updated the look but the basic machine is the same). There are a couple new models that look interesting (motor size is everything) but I really don't want to build one into my cabinet.

These are just a couple places to find Bosch mixers.
