It appears that quite a few of us received requests for selvages.
I was trying to relocate that in my PMs, but have been unable to find it.

I was wondering if this person may have been conducting some kind of experiment with us as the guinea pigs?

Admin 06-10-2010 09:56 AM

That person sent identical PM by doing copy/paste to 227 people. So I locked her account.

Melinda in Tulsa 06-10-2010 09:56 AM

I also got a request for selveges and like you, it has disappeared from my PM box. When she was blocked, it must have deleted all messages to/from her.

How do you figure that out?

Admin 06-10-2010 10:58 AM

How do you figure that out?
I checked the database, and then checked the web server logs.
She would open a thread, and then keep going to a user profile after profile sending PMs. Then she would move on to another thread and PM everyone there. And so on.

Quilter7x 06-10-2010 11:00 AM

Thanks for taking care of that Admin. :)

bearisgray 06-10-2010 11:01 AM

Wonder if anyone responded.

I have two baggies full of boring selvages that I was thinking about sending to her, but these don't have the cute little circles on them.

Admin, I think this bears notation from you on the main so all memebers will be advised without having to 'chance upon' one of the posts discussing it.
Maybe you would lock it at the top for awhile. It might deter abuse which deprives our members in need.
Regards, Dorothy

I also got that & ignored it since I didn't know the person & it sounded weird. I keep mine & zigzag them together to make pin cushions for friends. The woven pieces off layer cakes & jelly rolls, etc. are great (prob 12 inches or more) & they look very cute when zz'd together.

craftybear 06-11-2010 11:23 AM

Thank you Admin. You make this site so wonderful

Craftbear, I'm out right now, but next time I make some I'll post them. Thanks for asking me to share them. Also, I see your links to different sites for all kinds of tips. How do you connect those links to this site? I'd like to do that too. Thanks.

adrianlee 06-11-2010 07:43 PM

I was wondering. I saved some of my salvages and then was wondering why she wanted them. Glad that Adm is keeping a close eye on things. Geez, just makes you wonder about some folks.

That is why your avatar is a 600 pound silverback gorilla - those things pack a punch!

Here's mine! :D

Jingle 06-11-2010 10:41 PM

I got a PM from her - its been a while, I didn't check how new she was or how many times she had posted, I went to look either the 9th or 10th of June and her PM was still there, just checked now early hours of june 12th and couldn't find it. I sent her a small box and paid the postage myself and never received a thank you. I remember her name. I dislike dishonest people very much and you can bet your bananas I won't do it again.
They only get one shot at me and that was it, don't care who or how many try it, it won't work twice.

Yes, I too was contacted. Didn't get any sent though. This happened to me one other time from a newbie and I didn't know what happened. Thanks Admin.
