Selvedge Apron

1 Attachment(s)
I haven't posted in ages, life and summer just seemed to get in the way but I am still having so much fun on my selvedge projects. Thought you would like to see my selvedge apron which I have just finished. I drew up a rough pattern from a pic so if I made another one, I would use a 'real' pattern but I am really happy with the end result. When I get a spare half hour, I will upload my other selvedge quilts into an album for everyone to see.

That is one nice project out of your selvedges. :)

Very nice. I need to start saving my selvage pieces.

Moonglow 03-26-2015 02:50 AM

Nicely done.

KenmoreGal2 03-26-2015 03:19 AM

That's really nice! I love the green piping. I'm looking forward to seeing the other aprons you've made. How do you sew those tiny selvedges together? (I'm showing how new I am to quilting with that question....)

quilterpurpledog 03-26-2015 03:31 AM

Cute apron. How much fabric does one have to buy to get enough selvedges to make an apron? Just curious.

nabobw 03-26-2015 04:30 AM

That is the best way I have seen to use the selvage. Love the apron

Tartan 03-26-2015 04:38 AM

That apron would make me want to cook!! Just wonderful. Can you let us know how to access your album when you get things posted, please? (Haven't done that yet.)

carolynjo 03-27-2015 07:50 AM

How ambitious and CUTE!

nycquilter 03-28-2015 06:36 AM

Love it! It is so pretty.

BETTY62 03-28-2015 09:28 PM

I love your apron. You must be a very patient individual. I don't have enough patience or years left to even sew all those little strips into one big piece. LOL

qltrwannab 03-30-2015 10:47 AM

Love it ! So creative.. I too am looking forward to making something with all my selvedges !

Girlfriend 03-31-2015 08:41 AM

I love your apron. Did you use a pattern? Do you use a foundation fabric or paper? What do you do with all the strips of selvage that don't have writing on it - do you throw them away. I have a lot of selvages saved, but found the ones with writing on them are a lot less that all the ones without. I've often wondered what people do with the left overs.

Sorry for all the questions. I love your project and it motivates me to get mine out.

quiltjoey 04-04-2015 06:57 PM

I'm saving selvages! Hope to make some things with them. That apron is a great idea!

kathdavis 04-04-2015 09:08 PM

Here is my latest apron, a twister one done in greens which I will wear to a themed 'Green' birthday party for a friend in July.

Latrinka 06-22-2015 12:48 PM

Both of these are just too cute!

zozee 06-22-2015 01:36 PM

Super cute! I have never seen twisters on an apron. You have inspired me--and what is that second pattern?

tammyg 06-23-2015 01:46 AM
