Grandson is in Japan and we want to send letters and
a package....how far ahead do we send for Xmas? Thanks |
Our post office publishes time tables in the paper.
If he has an APO if you send it this week it might get there in time (package), but if it has to go to a "standard" address, it takes several weeks that way.
Letters I think are faster, you may consider stamping and sending separate. |
It is very costly to send to Japan. My niece was there and we sent it "fast rate" and it truly got there in 4 days. Of course that was not guaranteed, but it did!!
Thank you, yes he has an APO, just never done this before...he is in the Navy, first time away, good experience...
And ask they have a special box for APO addresses that might be cheaper
When our VFW sent our pkgs.(110) we sent them in a flat rate box.Saved us a ton of money.
When DD and SIL were stationed I sent them by 12/10. I used the flat rate boxes. Crammed as much as possible in them!
DD loves popcorn balls. Sent them as packing material. She loved it. I also wrap things to her in fabric so she can build a stash. Fill around the items you send with hard candy- pour them into the box, shake them up so they settle. |
