sewing machine

I treated my expensive machine (Janome MC11000se) like it was a workhorse and ended up melting the board. Instead of possible expensive repairs I opted to get the new Skyline S9, sew and embroidery, not computerized. A lot cheaper and it includes a lot of things.Am enjoying it.

Congratulations on your new machine. A new machine is exciting!

i have no love for computerized sewing machines. Ceritfied Luddite here.

The computer board blew out, but likely not from how you treated the machine. It's a computer and, as we all know, computers have relatively short life times.

I would have done the same as you if that happened to me. Turns out I rarely use the bells and whistles on my machine!

I, too, am thinking about getting a mechanized, workhorse, non computerized machine. Thinking about an older Singer, or maybe one like Jordan of Jordan's Fabrics. She sews on a Consew which sews 6,000 stitches per minute. I can't imagine I will ever be going that fast, but I would like the possibility. The Consew is a commercial machine. I am a person who has to see the machine and test drive. Some that look wonderful online, don't seem that great when I see them in real life.

Good for you!! I hope you enjoy your new machine.
I'm also in love with mechanical machines. So much less to worry about.

I have a Brother Nouvelle 1500s, straight stitch only, and it is a no problem work horse, I've had it for over 10 yrs.

Nice machine, but the Skyline S9 is computerized. It even has WIFI. See it here: https://www.sewvaccity.com/product/3535/

Yes, the new Skyline series looks like a great machine. I hope you enjoy your new sewing partner.
