Sewing With My 5 Year Old Grandson
 
My grandson and I periodically sew together. We were doing it this afternoon and he was looking in the drawer where I keep the feet. My machine has a plate with all the various stitches and he wanted to try them. So I explained to about how different stitches use different feet. We sewed several stitches and he discovered the walking foot and he said "This one is crazy!" I told him the name of it and he said "They have feet that walk just like we do!"

I bartered with a girl and got a small sewing machine that I want my five year old grandson to sew with as he loves to sew. He wanted a sewing machine for Christmas for the last 2 years and his Daddy would croak if I had given him one for Christmas. So now when he comes over, he will have his own machine and I won't worry about him messing up mine. Who knows what might happen in the future? Could have a wonderful, talented grandson that goes into quilting like some of these other very talented men.
