Try John Frieda brilliant Brunette Visibly Deeper Shampoo & Conditioner in dark brown container. It highlights your brown and softens the gray tones.

Forgot to mention if you have a Dillons store in your area, that is where it is available.

I have used Shimmer Lights by Clairol - it comes in shampoo as well as conditioner. I don't use it all the time because it tends to give my hair a purple tinge after awhile. Maybe that's not a bad thing since purple hair seems to be "in".

try Shimmering Lights shampoo by Clairol. DD bought for me but probably found at any grocery, big box store, pharmacy, etc. I was a bit pleased as how it brightened up my dull gray-- I do not use with every shampoo but guess you could.

Jhimack SilverPlus brightened my white parts when I let my hair go gray. I don't think it did much for the darker gray in the back. I'm back to coloring my hair, so it's a return to shampoo for color treated hair for me.

all those shampoos are purple, which balances the yellowing that white hair gets from the sun.
As June noted above constant use will tint the hair a pale bluey/purple :)

I started using Shikai Color Reflect shampoo and conditioner when I decided to embrace my elder self. I find at local drugstore or Amazon, I use it 1 a week and use a volume shampoo conditioner the rest of time. The shampoo is purple and removes the yellow tint to hair, makes it appear whiter.

Anita, love that name. It was my mother's name. I feel your pain. I have been coloring my hair since I was 17 due to premature grey. As I got older I went from medium brown to lighter browns. As I was approaching 65 (just a few days ago) my sons and friends said I should let it go. Vanity and my thinning hair due to medications made it difficult for me but I decided I would give it a try since I have short hair. My friends suggested shampoos that cater to Blonde to Silver in a purple bottle. Clairol has one, Ulta has one and I purchased an Equate brand at Wal-Mart. I've used it 4 or 5 times so far and have already noticed less brassy hair and a softer look. My fear of having bland grey hair is diminishing as my grey is whiter than I had thought it would be. I had originally thought after trying it for a bit I would ultimately go back to coloring but honestly I'm happy with where it's going and I know I won't. I still have about 2" of light brown before I am totally out of the coloring stage. My Great Clips cutter says 3 more haircuts should do the trick but I'm sure one more will do it. Take the plunge and give one of these products a try. I'm glad I did.
