Shanghai & Beijing for Quilters
I am going to China for 3 weeks.. mix of work and vacation. Has anyone been to Shanghai or Beijing? Are there quilt shops or fabric stores that I need to add to my itinerary? Cotton or silk? What should I invest in? Thinking of taking an empty suitcase just to bring home the goodies! Any suggestions for hotel and tours in Beijing? thanks in advance for any hints or tips....

From watching some of the travel shows I know you can have a silk dress made in a day! I imagine you could purchase some awesome silks there. Perhaps the concierge at your hotel will have some suggestions and can make travel arrangements fir you?

I have no idea how to answer your questions, but I sure am looking forward to seeing pictures of any fabric you do find! ....and pics of the finished products also!

Quilting store in Beijing or Hong Kong???
Hi there, did you find something in Beijing, I'm going to Beijing and Hong Kong in May and wonder if you find a store I can visit to buy fabrics???
