My Mother is in the re-hab area in the hospital after having some surgery, skilled nursing is also in the same area.
I was visiting today and the activities director was talking to me about some crafting ideas for the patients to do. I am asking if anyone may have some ideas that I can pass along to her. Some of the patients are vision impared and little dexterity. |
decopodge some tissue paper to clear glass vases for their rooms? Paper napkins work great for this. We also did rocks after we spray painted then white.

Quick felt projects - cut shapes of Christmas trees, Easter eggs, ice skstes, bunnies, etc.
Crafters put two together (they don't have to worry with felt for front and back if they have poor vision. Then just do a oversized whipstitch around the edges. These are very forgiving if the stitches are not even. They can add sequins - if that's too tiny of work, they can decorate with markers in so many shades. |
Take some sheets of felt and cut into strips about 2 inches wide. Cut out felt shapes like flowers or hearts (you can buy them already cut too) and glue to the felt and they have a bookmarker.

If your library has Family Fun magazine, look at it. It has craft ideas every month for kids of many ages. A project in there might be just the thing to spark your creativity.
