Singer c240

Check it out on you tube. Couldn’t believe it has the same IDT as Pfaff.

For about the same money you could get a vintage featherweight that will outlast this one by decades.

Vintage doesn’t have IDT

I just bought one a couple weeks ago! Still putting her through her paces but so far, I really like the machine. It has lots of nice features. I wish it had an automatic thread cutter but sometimes I don't even use the ones on my other machines because they tend to cut the thread so short it pulls out on the next row of stitching. If anyone's interested I will post a full review when I have time to rev it up! :)

I have two identical Pfaff 1473 machines that are at least 25 years old and I wouldn’t trade them for any amount of money. Also I wouldn’t touch any Singer machine build in at least the last 40 years or so - filled with plastic parts that break and aren’t worth fixing. I sincerely doubt thst this Singer IET is even comparable to the Pfaff IDT which hasn’t given me an iota of trouble in the 25 years I’ve owned the first one. I don’t like to rain on anybody’s parade but there are so many better machines, including Pfaff ones with a super IDT system thst cost less than this piece of junk.

Well, thanks a lot for calling my machine a "piece of junk" but you wouldn't know anything about it, since you do not own one.

Opinions can be stated without insulting someone else.

So does this mean that PFAFF has sold the rights to their IDT technology to Singer to use? I have a PFAFF Creative 1.5, and the IDT foot looks very similar to the Singer C240. The description of the video linked below refers to it as "PFAFF IEF".

Amazing that this machine is $399 on Amazon right now. If the feed system works well, it's a bargain.

Pfaff and Singer are indeed the same company now. Also included is Husqvarna Viking. The new company name is SVP Worldwide.

I was whipping up a little cell phone purse on my C240 last night. She handled layers of fabric and Bosal foam with no problem.... if anyone needed to know that!

Great! please keep us updated on your machine. I have been eyeing it for some time now. Not that I NEED another machine but my back-up could use a friend
