I used the calculator (thanks) and even estimating higher than I think I'd use I came up with 3G. I'm home most of the time so I don't really need it. If they wouldn't force me to get a data plan I'd get one for the fun of using it.

If I traveled more I'd love it.

I enjoy my iPhone much more than I thought I would. I have installed two quilting related apps. One is a quilt shop locator, that when I go to it , it shows all of the quilt shops in the area I am in, anywhere in the us. My husband was sooooo thrilled when I discovered that app. Lol The other is a fabric calculator which when I put in the measurements of quilts, it will immediately tells me how much fabric I need for. Borders, binding, back and everything. It is awesome!!!!!

I'm another iPhone addict. For those of you who frequent Hobby Lobby, you can pull up the latest HL coupon, through your phone browser. Go to mobile.hobbylobby.com. The coupon is only a few clicks away! This week, there's another 40% off one regular-priced item. You just show your phone coupon, to the cashier. Whoooo-hoooo!!!!

DH and I have had smartphones ever since the original Droid came out. We recently upgraded to the Razr Max. *LOVE* it! Our service is through Verizon, and our bill is $152 a month. That includes 700 shared minutes (we've never even gotten close to that), 250 text messages per phone, unlimited 4G internet (grandfathered in), GPS, camera, etc.

That sounds like a lot, but when you consider we don't have a landline, it's not really that much after all. Plus it gives us backup internet in case our home internet goes out.

We've noticed that you can often get a better deal online versus going through Verizon's brick-and-mortar store. At the store (at least our local one, anyway), they'll tell you that a certain feature costs extra or that it's no longer available, but online, it can be done. The store didn't want to grandfather us in on the unlimited internet, but we did it through their website with no problem.

Other than their local store personnel being less-than-helpful, we're happy with the service itself. :)

If you don't mind not having the "latest greatest" smartphone, check out StraightTalk. They offer flat rate unlimited service for under $50 a month, last time I checked, and supposedly they use Verizon's towers. We considered it, but DH wanted Verizon's fanciest-schmanciest phone, and they had them buy-one-get-one-free at the time, so I got one too. ;) (No regrets, though.)

Yep, I love my smart phone. I am thinking of upgrading to the new Iphone for facetime. Did you know you can get phone service thru AARP for a really decent price? I was surprised. If a person is on a very tight budget it would be worth checking out. I plan to stay with the plan I have. I couldn't beleive how much we used the phone when we went to Paducah last week. My friend would ask about something, I said look it up on the phone (I was driving), we used the GPS to find our hotel, the dictionary, quilt stores and more. It is my office in a box.
