I went to clean out my storm shelter and there are two snake skins and a live snake in there....
No way am I going down into that tiny room with a snake.... I don't care that I have identified it as a Black Rat Snake... non-poisonous etc....
I have put a 2x4 board "ramp" for it to crawl out on it's own.

Sounds like a good plan! I don't like snakes at all.

This is why I refuse to get a storm shelter! I absolutely do NOT do snakes, no way no how. Ewwww! Hope the lil pest comes out of there on his own for ya. *shudders*

I'm really thankful for our shelter... we've have 3 tornado's to pass over our house and touch down within 1/8 of a mile of us in the past. I live in a mobile home...

You said 2 snake skins...what happened to the other snake???YUCK!

When I had chickens, I had a lot of trouble with black rat snakes. They would eat the eggs. I killed several of them, even grabbing one by the tail and pulling him out from under the hay. Now that I don't have chickens, I wish I had a few. Maybe they would eat the pocket gophers I'm plagued with.

My daughter owns a ball python and said that snakes usually shed about once a month.... And I discovered a third snake skin.
DD also said to get a rat or mouse and feed it and then it's too sluggish to be aggressive and I could move it without any problem.... may have to do that if it's still down there in a couple days.

I hope the rains miss us... I need to leave the shelter open so sneaky snake can get out.
