So, here it is 8am on October 12th and I am looking out my window at about 2 inches of snow! And...it isn't the first snow of the season! We had about and inch or two on Saturday. While this gets me in the mood to work on my Christmas gifts, I am not ready for this stuff! So, Minneapolis area is covered, traffic is a mess and I have to head out in it in about a half hour. Good thing I only need to drive 5 minutes to downtown! Hope everyone has a fabulous day!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas.....

WOOHOO!!! I LOVE SNOW!!!! YIPPEE!!!!!!!!

I talked to my Aunt in the northern part of MN last night. She was getting snow, too. Snow in October is why I only like to visit her in the summer. I'd rather swat mosquitoes than shovel snow.

Terri~ If I could send it to you, I would. My DH and I were talking this morning about all the early season/late season snows we remember. The Halloween blizzard of 91, 12 inches on Halloween. Also got like 21 inches over the course of 2 days in March 1996. Just a little crazy!

Lisa~I'm so not ready for this, but the kids are loving it. They were outside at 8am on Saturday so they could play in it. Of course, they only lasted about 10 minutes before they were too cold! And it isn't sticking to the roads so that is good, no shoveling needed!

It's the wet, slimy stuff this morning. Great for causing accidents.

I am soooo envious. Could you post a picture or two of it?

Oh man this is just sick, theyare calling for snow here in cleveland this weekend, and we still can't get the boat out. hahahahaha

joeyoz 10-12-2009 07:54 AM

I saw the pictures on the news this morning. It sure looks pretty, but I know it can be treacherous to drive in. Please be careful.

Did I mention BRRRRRRR!!

amma 10-12-2009 08:12 AM

Brrrr a little too early in the year for me to be thinking about snow LOL
Is it really tacky of me to say "better you than me?"

Not tacky, just true! I just can't believe how much we are getting. It's 12:30 and still going strong. Here are some pictures out my living room window just to give you an idea of how much we've gotten!

Lisanne 10-12-2009 11:57 AM

Wow! I wish I were there. That looks sooooo nice. Thanks for posting the pictures!

They are calling for snow here on Thursday. Generally we don't get any snow until Oct. 31st, and even then it's usually just a light dusting. After the cold, rainy summer we had, everyone is feeling mighty cheated!

COOL!!! We're just having a hazy day....no snow, no sun  I want one or the other!!!!!

Hunnib 10-12-2009 12:35 PM

Loved the snow pictures! Love the snow too, lol! We hardly ever have snow here on the NC Coast.

MNQuilter 10-12-2009 12:38 PM

We normally don't get measurable snow until at least the end of the month and I heard this morning that we normally don't get this much until around Thanksgiving. It has finally stopped but still cloudy and looking like it might start again! Wish I could have spent the day in my quilt room! I think I would love it if I wasn't afraid of how long winter is going to last this winter! Oh well, nothing I can do about it so I'll let it motivate me to work on my Christmas gifts I need to get done!

amma 10-12-2009 12:46 PM

Those are some mighty fine pictures!!! Beautiful and sooooo coldlooking :D :D :D

MamaHen 10-12-2009 05:43 PM

Thanks, but no thanks! After 54 years of winters in Alaska, with 10' the last year I was there (yes 10 feet) and having to shovel off the roof, sunny warm North Florida here I'll stay. Don't have to shovel the sunshine. Life is good! :D

We got snow here on Saturday. Just enough to cover the ground. It was really pretty and melted really fast.

DebsShelties 10-08-2010 06:11 AM

Wow, my doggies would have a ball running around in that

Navy Wife 10-08-2010 06:27 AM

We have at last cooled off! From 90's lastweek to 60's this week and 3 inches of snow on MT. LeConte in Gatlinburg. That's the highest peak around here. I'm glad to see the cool weather, but I'm not too fond of snow. Love to look at it for an hour or so, but then I want it to go away
