OK...I did it this time. Yesterday I found an old red shirt way down deep in my drawer and thought...hmmm...I remember this one and it looked comfy, so I threw it into the washer along with some other stuff and a color catcher. Did I mention that the shirt was red???? Well, you know what happened..I've now soaked the load overnight with Tide, bleach, Oxyclean, vinegar. I've washed it 4 more times with color catchers...some of the stuff turned back white..some is still pink...any ideas? He really did say he wasn't gonna wear the pink undies...

amma 11-07-2010 10:45 AM

Oh no.... I guess DH is going to need to ask Santa for new undies for Christmas  :lol:

KatFish 11-07-2010 10:45 AM

I've done that too. Can't think of anything to try that you haven't. I guess it's time to buy new undies. :D

Ditter43 11-07-2010 10:48 AM

I'd ask him who is going to see them besides him and you!!!

Sadiemae 11-07-2010 10:51 AM

Tell him he has a choice, pink undies or no undies! Just kidding, but it is kind of funny.

magpie 11-07-2010 11:18 AM

Rit dye, whatever color he wants. Lol.

I was going to suggest some rit dye maybe a brown or green to compensate for the pink...do not dye them blue...you will be making them purple!

purplemem 11-07-2010 11:32 AM

LOL! My dh won't wear pink undies either. Santa brought him new ones last year.

MadQuilter 11-07-2010 12:26 PM

Just tell him:
Pink is the new blue.
Real men eat quiche and wear pink?
Oh, nobody will see. (They better not!)
Claim the PINK!
Don't be a sissy!
This is payback for [fill in with a horror story of something he did].Look really stern saying it.
Honey, I thought you should try that metrosexual thing.

See - lots of options. ROFL. Pat wore pink for a while too. teehehe

UglyCook 11-07-2010 12:36 PM

The title of this sounds like a t-shirt slogan!

barnbum 11-07-2010 12:39 PM

Tell him you find him totally irresistible in pink undies and you can't keep your hands off him... then follow through. ;)

ptquilts 11-07-2010 12:41 PM

I think those color catchers are pretty useless. DH has a few pink ones, he doesn't care. Although he would rather have tighty whities than stinky pinkys.

Yep, I used that one on my hubby to get him to wash the dishes and he STILL does them!

trupeach1 11-07-2010 01:11 PM

did you try awesome??????????? You can get it at the $ store. DD put blueing in with white clothes, so stayed the prettiest shade of blue. However blue is not what she wanted. I tried amonia which is what it said on the bottle. They had soaked for a week and no change in color. Nothing worked and while I was in the laundry room I saw the un opened bottle of awsome. I might as well try that I had nothing to lose. With in about 15 minutes 2 of the 3 tops turned back to white. The other is still a pretty shade of blue, it will stay that way. Try awsome it might work.

Tell him that it's his duty to support breast cancer research?
The PCRA has a bull riding event every year they've titled "Real Men Wear Pink"...and all of the cowboys wear pink in some fashion.....

(Just tryin' to help you to not have to buy him new shorts...that could be fabric money!! )

dsb38327 11-07-2010 01:16 PM

Tell him he is contributing to 'Race for the Cure'.

prairiequeen 11-07-2010 01:20 PM

It is cancer awarenesss month.

oatw13 11-07-2010 01:21 PM

Rit sells something called color remover. It works pretty well for cotton.

At some point, it may just be cheaper to buy him some new ones! lol

bluteddi 11-07-2010 01:25 PM

Ritz has one called " color remover"... and baby.. if u want white... thats the way to go... I did the same thing one time.. and my boys refised the pink underwear... But beware... anything u put in the Ritz color remover u better want WHITE... it even removed the red and blue stripes on the elastic band off their Fruit of the Loom briefs.... smile. From then on... ever so often I toss the Ritz color remover in with the boys " dingy" white socks/underwear... never used bleach again!!

SherriB 11-07-2010 02:28 PM

My DH is such a nut that he would probably wear them anyway. He is one who does not think twice about what someone else may think or say about him.

My nice SIL has a favorite pink shirt his only daughter gave him.
Wears it often. When I asked if he was teased about it, he just stood up..and up and said that no one has said a word about it. He's a just retired Master Sgt, 6 foot 5 or so and loves his wife and daughter and doesn't care whatever any one else thinks.

Now about pink panties I don't know..none of my business.

b.zang 11-07-2010 03:23 PM

Remind him that they'll only show through white pants. Ask him to save the pink ones for under black slacks and jeans.

ForestHobbit 11-07-2010 04:39 PM

You could try hydrogen perixiode. (sp). My MIL used to soak vintage linens in it to brighten them.

Sandpat, I was on a trip with a group this past April and the hotel where we stayed said to put out our laundry, is we wanted it washed. Two days later, it was ready and returned to our room. A couple of the guys were incensed that they ended up with a pink shirt(not so bad); but the other guy ended up with pink boxers. The hotel staff said I should have told them, my t-shirt was new and never had been washed. They didn't tell me that they were going to wash everyone's laundry together. Eiltcoq.

Awww..... Y'all are a bunch of comedians!!! That won't pay well.

In the 60's DH was left on the farm with 2 kids - a toddler, and the other one crawling - whilst I went into town to do the weekly shopping. He decided to do the washing, and threw a pair of the crawling toddler's red tartan overalls in with the wash - didn't separate the whites from the coloureds - and ended up with pink undies. Had to go to football training that night with pink undies. Wouldn't tell me what the comments from the boys were, but I can guess.

sandpat 11-10-2010 05:02 AM

Ah yes...the old locker room commentary! I used to make sure that I packed some "amusing" boxers in my DH's suitcase when I knew he was going to have to" room" with someone else on his business trips. As I understand, he really appreciated that!

Kaye-Kaye 11-10-2010 05:15 AM

I think every man has been subjected to pink undies at some point in his life.
