I am not sure why mandolin doesn't rhyme with it. I was told that by a PhD in a college English class and we were discussing the use of rhymes and rhythm in poetry and language in general.

This untrue rumor has circulated over the years for a variety of Canadian denominations.
It does have an American Robin on it's reverse side, so I uncovered while researching this.
