We had almost 7 inches of rain Tues and Wed, but DH decided we should take a bike ride. Roads were flooded, bike trail was mush, so he decided the forest service roads would be best. They are well graveled and drain very well these days, so loaded the mountain bike tandem and off we went. There are several small creeks we usually just ride across, but this one stumped us. There is a concrete bridge at the bottom of the holler you usually just ford the creek and cross, it is about 8 feet wide. There is a high water marker that is 8 ft tall, can't even see a ripple where it is. The creek is over 100 yards wide now, so must be at least 10 ft deep.
It's raining again today. |
Holy Cow! That's a lot of water!

Wow! That's a big puddle. I am so envious of your tandem! Hubby and I have a cheapie walmart tandem, but we have a hoot with it! Haven't been able to safely use it since leaving Florida! We've been wanting a proper tandem for years!

It's raining here, too. I didn't think anything of it, but a woman at the grocery today was buying things to prepare for flooding.

That water certainly doesn't look inviting.

Wow, quite the swimmin' hole there. My kids have kinfolk in Alabama. The Jasper and Slick Lizard area.
