Solar Eclipse

2 Attachment(s)
On Wednesday 14th November 1000s of people from around the world descended on Cairns, Australia to witness a once in a lifetime event-a total solar eclipse. We are very privilidged as just had to walk around the corner and on to the beach where it all happened. The clouds parted long enough to get some good photos. Pictures were taken by my husband as I was overseas in New Zealand so missed out. Mind you I was busy buying fabric to bring back etc. My apologies- I have been reading all the posts this year but have not posted for much of the year as have been dealing with health issues, long work hours and little time to make quilts so was getting very frustrated. Hopefully I am back on track and will once again become active-this is just the best site with so much positive feed back given by all-will try and post some quilt pictues as well. Anyhow enjoy the photos- total eclipse and sun just coming out of eclipse. Pictures were too good not to share.
Enjoy.

What a wonderful opportunity to witness some of nature's marvels. Hubby must have been ecstatic.

Oh yes, I was going to ask if anyone got to see that. I remember one when I was little. It got dark outside and my Sister and I got scared. We had no idea what it was.

Beautiful pictures. We have had so many over the years around here.
Our 25 year old Granddaughter came in about 2 weeks ago telling me about a shooting star she saw as she was coming down the driveway. I was out in the back yard and didn't see it. She said it was very close, first she had seen.

I think I remember that solar eclipse referred to above; the one that was visible in the US; I can remember how spooked we all were that it was so dark in the middle of the day. Made all the old timers quote superstitions.....
