Some Craft Projects

6 Attachment(s)
I'm a homeschooling mom and sometimes while the kids are reading or testing, my idle hands get to twitching. They just need something to do. So, these are some of the projects that have come out of our school room this month

The first pumpkins are a set of three crocheted pumpkins in different sizes.

The next was a woven fabric basket that I made up and added fun, oversized buttons to use as handles.

Then there's a picture of two, knitted pumpkins.

And last are some pictures of some yoyo pumpkins and a yoyo kitty. I have a rescued black cat, named Becky, who likes to curl up in my sewing room and keep me company, so I made a little yoyo kitty in her cute image. Then I made some yoyo pumpkins. One of them, the one pictured last, I used an orange/silver print and I call it my frosted pumpkin.

These were so much fun to do, and kept me busy when my DDs were doing school assignments that didn't need as much instruction, but still needed supervision. My youngest DD thought they looked like so much fun that she started a few yoyo pumpkins of her own and a white kitty yoyo to match her beloved pet cat, Snowflake.

All are gorgeous! Love the colors and ideas! My friend's son and daughter both were horribly bullied on the school bus and at school. After 2nd grade they never saw the inside of a school again. They are now studying for their professorships and have home schooled their own children. A couple do go to public high school and have no problem. They have many friends who are also home schooled. Before my own sons went to school, I found out about the different subjects and reading was going to be mostly by memory. Well if the story isn't interesting my sons would not memorize much. So before and after school and any spare time, I worked in games of phonics and there may be other ways/methods for children to learn but the phonics and math I learned I also taught my children. Teachers complained but my sons got As and Bs in most subjects, reading, writing, arithmetic and English. Because of my Catholic (Latin mass) upbringing, I could explain the origin of some words. I made my sons look up words in the dictionary. They don't have college degrees but the techniques (and I don't have a teacher's certificate)that I added to what the teachers taught, I know helped them through school. Good for you homeschooling. I don't know your reasoning behind it and I would only find it interesting as I do life in general. Keep up the beautiful work.

love all the projects, but I am going to attempt
the basket with my scraps bc I have a new kitten.
She needs one for inside and outside.
Your work is beautiful and bravo for being a
homeschooling mom.
The ones that are really dedicated work hard.

Wow what a talented lady you are. They are all adorable especially the black cat. Where did you find the patterns?

I love all the your crafts. The basket is really pretty, but those knitted pumpkins really get me. Nice job on the cables. A technique I need to work on. Keep on crafting.
