Here is one of the recent project my quilting Group here in spain have been doing

The idea is for a Group of 4 to get together, choose a theme and then the fan blades are given out to each other. For instance I kept 2 fan blades and gave one each to 3 ladies, each of them gave me one blad each, clear as mud??? anyway here is the results of our efforts The two fan blades that I kept are then made up in fabrics to blend with the other three blades and they turned out quite beautiful

They're beautiful! I'm going to mention this to my quilting groups to see if we want to do this. I love new projects that are other than traditional quilting.

We each had to come up with an idea of how to put them together.

I bought a fan and dismantled it and used these pieces to put mine together like a real fan. Others just sewed them together it really was up to the individual.
