I am so, so, so angry at myself. I made a quilt for a wedding gift to my niece and husband. Made the quilt, had it quilted made and sewed on the label. My brother and wife drove it to Calgary for the wedding.I SPELLED THEIR LAST NAME WRONG!! I'm going to make a new label and send that and the correct colored thread and hope that she can find someone to take off the wrong label and sew on the corrected label. I forgot the letter "N" in their last name and I didn't notice it until we were looking at the quilt after the wedding. Not much I could do in a hotel in downtown Calgary.
One of the grooms grandmothers is a quilter so I hope she can do it for them. It was the only mistake in the whole quilt! |
Oh I feel your pain. So sorry that has happened but glad it could be resolved.
My husband just got business cards made up for sewing machine repair. He had me double check him with the spelling and phone number. I looked on the computer screen and saw nothing wrong until we got the cards in the mail with transposed numbers in the phone number! Argh! Now I'm driving back to the four quilts shops to change them out. We learn! |
I did that once on a diaper bag. So I had to make a new one. At least it's just a label that can be change.

It really sucks but I guess you're human. Don't be so hard on yourself.
|
Yup, mistakes, typos happen. Don't flog yourself. It can be fixed and it is on the back not on the front. But I don't get upset easily, it wouldn't bother me if I got it with my name misspelled.
|
You must have felt bad. ( I've been married 43 years and my brother can't spell my 'new' last name.)
|
mistakes happen don't beat yourself up.

Been there done that too many times!
|
Thanks everyone, It's nice to know I'm not the only one.
