Ufoqueen asked if anyone remembered spoolies. I remember them but seemed like once they were bought, they just sat in a drawer. At least the ones I had did. They were too small to roll anything on but short hair. My form of torture was the brush rollers with the little pink sticks to poke through them to hold in place. I can remember many nights of torture sleeping on those horrible things just to have curly hair in the morning. I finally tossed all mine away about twenty years ago. Good riddance. But I found I still have the little pink sticks saved in a jar. Anyone want them?

LOL my mom still uses those rollers! I have some hard plastic pink ones I use a few occasionally when we are camping but not often!!

Since I have naturally curly hair my children had never seen hair rollers when they were little. One day we were outside playing and our neighbor came out with curlers in her hair. My children stopped dead in there tracks and just stared at her. They all looked at me and asked "What's wrong with her head?". They still remember the incident.

I haven't thought of spoolies in years. My sisters and I had very long hair and would use soup cans and Dip-ity-Do. I don't know how we slept with about 15 cans attached to our head.

I remember spoolies. I had very short hairand used them for my bangs and sides. I also remember those roolers with the brushes and pink sticks. What we went throught to be beautiful. No my hair is short and poker straight.

You can use those pink sticks to assist with your sewing...
1. The larger end can be used to finger press seams
2. The smaller end can be used help push a small bit of fabric under the sewing machine needle.
3. The smaller end can also be used to pull the bobbin thread out from under the foot.

I bet these creative men and women can come up with a few more uses for the pink sticks...

If you knit, I bet you could use them to pin your seams before you stitch them up. Hope that made sense, made sense to me!
