I know we love pictures so I wanted to show you who we shared our yard with a couple of years ago. My husband took the pictures, and as I came home, he was jumping all over the driveway yelling "Hurry! Hurry!" He had figured out our new camera, but didn't know how to download pix to the computer and was going crazy! These were our baby Great Horned Owls.

No, I didn't even know there is an Owl Box. They just settled in. Tell me about an Owl Box!

Me too ducky .... I love owls! Those are some great pics hubby took. We have the ground owls here in nevada that are about the size of a sparrow. So very cute, and they are so courageous.

Yes, Owls are courageous. These babies were about 15" high. We never saw the parents during the day. Saw them at nite and heard them. Their sound is amazing. And Redgarnet, my husband knows a lot about owls. He loves ground owls. Tiny babies. Thanks for looking.

That reminded me of years ago when we had an owl get into the house! The kids had broken out one of the windows playing ball (thought I had it taped up!!! NOT good enough) We had a large brown cabinet in the den in the corner. I came out of the kitchen into the den and setting on top of the cabinet was a small brown owl. He might have been 10 inches tall. He was just setting there not making any noise and at first I thought one of the (4) kids had put a stuffed one up there! As I walked across the den the eyes moved! I went and told my hubby “there is an owl in the den”. He just looked at me and said “Can’t be!” I told him “Well, you had better come and see! He is setting there looking at me! And I know what an owl looks like!” He finally came and looked for himself, then got a broom and opened the back door and finally got it out! Never back then thought about taking a picture. (probably didn’t have film in the camera anyway!)
