Stenciling a sidewalk to look like brick???
If anyone has ever done this I would be interested to know how you spaced? used for brick pattern? and a picture would be good. I am seriously thinking about doing this to our badly stained cement....

I think you better check out the DIY site or HGTV...good luck & let us see the results!

I have seen this but haven't done it myself. There is an antique shop that has a brick pattern painted/stenciled on the floor. It looked like red brick. The spacing looked like you would lay regular bricks with morter. I thought it was neat! I painted a throw rug on my patio.

They have stencils for a brick pattern(life-size) and also I have seen them do the same for a stones look on HG
TV in the past. |
This is very easy. You use a small paint roller. http://www.ehow.com/how_4828715_pain...ike-brick.html

I did it at my daughters condo. Came out great. Joanns had several stencils, rocks, bricks, fences (not an option). I base coated with a grey outdoor craft paint, then sprayed over the stencil with a brick color spray paint. I was afraid to go any further with trying to shade with spray so I used a brush. Fun to do and if you don't like the outcome..paint over. Also it must be clean to start with and sealed when finished. Good luck!

its easy. clean the cement real well. paint it your gout color then take a kitchen spunge cut it to the size of a bring. put different colors of the brink color you want to use. dab your spunge in each color and press it in something else to blend the colors. but do go to diy and get instructions there. I have done it this way a couple times.
good luck |
I did the sponge paint on my back patio and cellar floor. It came out great, and was easy. The hardest paart was the strain on the back!!!!

When you pay a professional company to do this they etch your cement first to clean off all oil based substances - which is easy-peasy to do, supplies at Lowes, then they use stains instead of paint and the colors will last years longer. You might want to investigate cement stains when you check out cement paints. They also are much more fade resistant.

our cement floor in the garage was awful when we purchased our home. We used an epoxy paint with speckles and it looks great, so good we did out sidewalk with it. Made by Rustoleum and is easy to roll on!
