I aim my hair dryer at the label, which softens the glue. Star at one side and gently pull off as you melt more label.

My dh doesn't notice the odor of WD-40, but I cannot tolerate being around even small amounts of it!

These are my go to suggestions as well. If you have a place to soak the labels in water overnight, they should just peel off in the AM with no problem. Overly sticky goo, then try the peanut butter.

I always use lighter fluid, soak the label with LF, the glue will usually soften up, then just peel the label. sometimes you have to clean up some of the sticky residue with LF and a paper towel.

plain cooking oil has always worked for me

Saturate them with something oily (peanut butter, cooking oil, etc) and let them stand. You will be able to remove them after a while. Clean oil off with window cleaner.

I'm with the Goo Gone crowd. Works every time. It's really oily and very thin, so I would take out the drawers and work with the surface in a horizontal position. Good luck.

This is what I do- heat it up and it should pull off. There may be a little leftover adhesive- Goo Gone on a paper towel works well for that.

Make your new label larger than the ones on the drawers and tape it over them. I always take the labels off things I buy. I find the newer the item the easier the label comes off. But it is a combination of the type of glue they used and how long it has had to set. Sometimes the label just won't budge.
I also do this with large padded envelopes I receive and want to save and boxes I receive and don't want my personal information on them when I throw them away. If I pull the label off right after I get it, it comes off with no problem. The longer it's there the harder it is to remove.

My niece is an ER - she told me years ago to use rubbing alcohol or peroxide - both will work. I also use Goo Gone.
