This reminds me of all the extremely "punny" names in the Dick Tracy comic strip: Sam Catchem, B.O. Plenty, the father of Sparkle Plenty and uncle of Vera Alldid Plenty. Vera's daddy wanted a boy and had daughter after daughter until he finally got a son and told his wife she could stop having babies because "Ve're all did, now."

I had a student years ago: Shannon Doha _______. I puzzled over Doha for a long time until the light finally came on: "Shenandoah"!

I have cousins Strawberry Fields and Ocean Storm. It's not only celebrities that need a reality check...duh.

Once upon a long ago time... someone told me there was a Dr. Donald Duckles, who was a pediatrician.

So I googled the name. And there is indeed a Dr. Donald Duckles, but (unfortunately for kids) he is a surgeon.

We had a patient come in, whose name was Ripley Rasmus. My receptionist made him show her his driver's license. I wanted to set him up with another patient....Bunny Poppleton. I always wondered why their parents hung those names on them. By the way Rip is a really well to do architect, so the name did him no harm, lol.

Do not laugh too hard! I am an old OB nurse, we actually had a local woman name her twins Lemonjello and Orangejello...pronounced with a French accent! And beware her wrath if someone pronounced them without the accent. A good friend of mine was working in a dermatology office when the boys were young. She picked up the charts and went to the waiting room to call them back. She pronounced it Lemon Jello and Orange Jello and the mother went off on her! True story as I live and die, I would not make this up. My personal favorites were Vageena and Urethra.

Some I remember are...Placenta, Le mon jel lo, and O range jel lo ( both pronouced as accented here. haha

I once knew a goat named Flora. I think she was Thumbelina's daughter...

(Totally off topic! :-) )

When my daughter played baseball there was a family who had named their children Liberty, Freedom and Justice. The mom was expecting at the time; I lost track of them, but I wondered if she named the baby For All.
