My mother made a dress for me when I was little a lot like that one. It was orange with a big white collar. I'm 62 now so that was when I was 7 or 8.

Beautiful dress and purse. I chuckled when I saw the purse though! I have about 3 yards of that fabric just waiting for a project. (I won't make a purse now!)
