Food seems to be a big part of the Super Bowl Event - our favorite ready made pizza place opened early - we stopped by after church and there was already a line! So, what is everyone cooking and or/planning to eat in front of the big game??

My DH and I never watch ball games of any type. The only ones is children we know that are playing in little league, etc. I know it's un-American. Our sons are totally opposite but the are 500 miles a way. :)

I'd like the recipe for kicked up coleslaw. Can you post it in the recipe section. We watch the Food Channel and have now started putting coleslaw on pulled pork sandwiches when we saw several different chefs do that.

pocoellie 02-06-2011 01:01 PM

Nothing in particular, whatever I can come up with. Besides, I don't watch TV or the super bowl. LOL

varacefan 02-06-2011 01:04 PM

DH always makes his special Super Bowl chili. Our daughter in California emailed for the recipe so they could make it this year too.

By the time the game comes on, I'm through eating for the day. We had turkey and dressing for lunch and that's it's.

pollym44 02-07-2011 08:08 AM

Gumbo, boiled shrimp and crab legs, hamburgers , hot dogs, chips and dip. The big deal for us was last year when the saints played and WON. Really wasn't into this one. Natchez is right on thr river, just a bridge away from La, sooooo close to New Orleans, so the celebration was wild. We cooked for 2 days and celebrated for months.

Teresa 54 02-07-2011 09:24 AM

I didn't want to eat alot of junk all day, so we had a good breakfast, and a good lunch, buy the time the game rolled around, we only had cheezits, and some apple pie and coffee!

oldmountaincrafts 02-07-2011 10:02 AM

Homemade pizza, baked potato soup, homemade chili, chili & cheese dip, wings, chips & dip, chips & homemade salsa, veggie tray, cupcakes, banana pudding, brownies, smoked pork loin, homemade chicken salad & crackers, sausage loaf...

I think that's all, but of course we had 30 people in our basement watching the game so I needed alot of food...

craftymatt2 02-07-2011 06:25 PM

All kinds of food, Taco Dip, veggie tray, small hamburgers with lots of onions, chips and plenty of dips, little smokies wrap in crescents. And lots of baked goods.

Er-hemm...but did you watch the Saints last year? I don't watch football either, but I'll admit I did watch the Saints. We had a Super Bowl party and all.
