Super Focus, CraftOptics...any input?
 

I have discovered a love for needle turn applique...but, the eye strain is telling my age...I have had an eye exam in the last 30 days and I have an rx for an increased strength for my bifocals...I have seen advertisements in many quilting magazines for CraftOptics and on television for Super Focus eyeglasses...Does anyone have any input on either of these vision enhancements?

I will be interested to see what others have to say about this.
You should be sure that your Rx is for the correct distance you are doing your sewing from.
I noticed when I started doing more appliqué that I needed better lighting. I would not do appliqué now without my Ott light. I place it to behind my left shoulder, since I am right handed. That way I don't get any shadows on my work.

When I do hand applique I have one of those magnifying mirrors that hang around my neck and make my hand work MUCH MUCH BIGGER and I don't need to wear my glasses.

I wear progressive glasses and have found any other magnifiers give me a headache. I do use my ott light and have my glasses adjusted to the same distance as when I sew/cross stitch/ bead.

I also bought one of the magnifying mirrors that hang around your neck, boy does it magnify!!!!

I use Magniclips. They are like the old fashioned sunglasses that clipped onto your glasses over the nose piece. They come in different levels of magnification-I use 2.5. If you type in magniclips ? magni clips? not sure, they will come up. I have a hard time seeing to thread needles etc and they work great. You can either remove them or just flip them up out of the way - I always have a pair clipped onto the flip up top on my machine.
