We met our daughter at Dvoor Farm in Flemington NJ yesterday morning. It's halfway between our house in PA and our daughter's house in NJ.
It was thundering, lightning and pouring rain during the whole drive there. We got there just as the rain ended. Yaaaaayyy!! We bought some goodies from some wonderful farmers-- artisan bread and cheese from Bobolink Farm, fresh flowers, honey, and honey-rosemary soap from the Tassot Apiary beekeepers, and Jersey corn, raspberries and veggies from the Sweetvalley farmer. Last night we had a great supper with fresh corn and delicious salad, and we had warm bread and honey with fresh raspberries and yogurt for breakfast this morning. Aaaaah, summer. Sweet and yummy. If you are near the Delaware River in Hunterdon County NJ or Bucks or Montgomery County PA, you are close to this farmers market. It's open every Sunday until November. If you aren't nearby, some of their goods are available online. http://www.cowsoutside.com/ http://www.tassotapiaries.com/ http://www.sweetvalleyfarms.com/ And many communities have farmers markets all summer long where you can support local farmers, get local deliciously FRESH produce, and actually enjoy the shopping experience again. |
