T Shirt Pattern

Happy Easter everyone. I am looking for a pattern to sew summer tops. I normally wear an extra large. I would like to know of a pattern that looks great when sewn and easy to alternate. Have lots of double knits ready to be sewn. Thanks, Loren

I'm also looking for a pattern like this. Hope someone suggests one that each of us likes! Happy Easter to you also!

I like the Perfect T Shirt by Pamela Leggett, and there is plenty of information on the website to assist with making a nice t shirt. http://www.pamelaspatterns.com

I haven't made it yet, but there is a free pattern here that fits S-XL

see the crease above the bust, really needs a dart. that's what started with knits. darts have disappeared in most clothes like blouses, dresses etc. shame.

Double knits for summer? Lord, I hope they are cotton or rayon, or you will cook. (To me double knit is the stuff they used in the 70's and 80's for little old lady pants that had the stitched crease down the front. Am I wrong?) Kaliah Ali has many patterns that work up quick and fairly simple to construct.

Yes I do. I also need darts in the back because of my sloped shoulders.

I just might have to take some of the fitting patterns classes. I like making my own clothes, but haven't made any in years; due to fitting problems. I have narrow sloping shoulders & large bust. I'm a petite plus size woman, so patterns are sized weirdly...they think we have elephant necks and ape arms.

Me too, one of the reasons I wanted to learn to sew is to make clothes that fit me. I have hunched shoulder, sway back, small waist but big butt and legs. lol

If you have a ready made shirt/top that you like the style/fit, copy it! Turn the shirt inside out. Take some butcher or tissue paper and make a pattern from the ready-to-wear top. Add you seam allowances to the finished size and you are on your way. If I could find the cotton pique, I have a style top I'm ready to make about 100 of!
