Taking a Break From Quilting
1 Attachment(s)
Being as I sew practically every day, and most of the time I am making quilts or quilted items, I sometimes just need to take a break from quilting.
When I am in that "break" mood I love to sew the Dolls And Daydream patterns because they go together pretty quickly, and they always turn out so darn cute, and I can always find someone, somewhere that wants or needs these little cuties. This time I took a "Mermaid" break. |
I can see those dollies as party favors at some little girls Little Mermaid birthday party. Cute as can be!

Oh those are really, really cute. I had not heard of them before. It’s so nice to have an ( instant gratification) project to turn to every now and then.
|

|
Oh my goodness, they are adorable!! What a sweet break.

Are these dolls hard to make? It looks like they are fairly small and I wondered how hard it is to do the arms and such. You did a great job on them and they turned out so darn cute!

Aww such cute little mermaids, I sew a Tilda toys when I want something different to make.
|
How adorable! How tall are the dolls, and what is the hair made of?
|
Hadirabke...do you adopt them out?

They are just tooooooooo cute!!!!!!

These dolls are not hard to make. Dolls and Daydreams has both sewing patterns and embroidery machine patterns. I do the embroidery machine ones because I have an embroidery machine, but the sewing ones are not hard either. They all come with a PDF that has very good instructions, with lots of pictures.
The mermaids in the pictures are 16" tall, and the small one on the bottom right is 13" tall, so they aren't to small. I have also made the smaller ones. The patterns all come with 4 different sizes. If you have ever thought about making this kind of thing I would try the Dolls and Daydreams web site. Like I say, they are pretty quick and easy, and they turn out so darn cute.

The dolls in the picture are 16" tall and 13" tall. All the hair is made with Minky except for the one that is in the lower right corner, and she has fleece hair.

I am glad to see someone else likes to make dolls. Sometimes I feel like the only one who does. Those are very cute.
|
Just darling. Not sure if your "go together quickly" and mine are the same! Time to check out another project, thanks!
|

Really cute dolls. Division of Family Services in your area might appreciate getting some to give to kids that must be removed from their homes.
|
Beautiful dolls!! My 7 granddaughters would probably make me do a lot of variety dolls for them! Lol
