Last year a local teen made her prom dress from colored duct tape.

The dress turned out very cute.

Sounds like some the things they do on Project Runway.

When my youngest daughter was a senior she made her prom dress from duct tape & garbage bags. The kids at her high school still talk about the girl who made the duct tape prom dress! She made a bow tie of duct tape for her boyfriend. I was as skeptical as most people, but she really looked pretty! And I didn't have to spend a fortune, but she was so creative that I was proud of her work. :-)
