Beautiful pictures! We were there last year in January. It is a beautiful city and I'd love to go back.

Ladydi.....which direction are you from SA??? My very best friend moved out to Menard by Fort McKavett last year, on the banks of the San Saba River, and it is wonderful out there, too. I think there is least 100 head of livestock for every human in the county.

Our city is fantastic for vacations, conventions, conferences with lots to do & see. Not just for adults either, it's a "kid friendly" place too, with Sea World, 6 Flags over Texas, river tubing, water parks etc. We have very little industry here compared to most cities our size so tourism/visitors is our BIGGIE! Glad you enjoyed it and your pictures were great!

Summer humidity gets uncomfortable, but sure beats shoveling snow and having to stay inside for months, & months.

Come back soon, ya'll.

Glad you enjoyed your time here in Texas !! Austin & SA offer so much to do & see, and so much history

Amazing to think that The Alamo almost WASN'T ... it had fallen into complete ruin before 1900 and was only saved in a campaign by the Daughters of the Republic of Texas.
They still manage & oversee it today, keeping it a free historical site for the public. :)
