sorry you are having such a bad time, but you should be honest with your lawyer. His job is to help you in any way he can.

Cathy, how horrible!

Do get a lawyer, a good one, to protect
your assets.

I'm so sorry you are going through this!!! I would not think that your machines are in danger unless it is very expensive. Be upfront with your attorney, he and the others will be going through your bank statements and credit card statements...ask your attorney questions, he is there to protect you and your interests.

Just remember that you hired the lawyer. They are working for you and your best interests. I agree to disclose everything and work from there. Good luck.

I'm sorry you have to go through this and wish you well. Once you're on the other side of the hurdle you'll be able to breathe and quilt in peace.

I tried to read up on personal property but the legaleze is too much for my brain. Your lawyer can tell you for sure.

I'm not a lawyer --- however, I am a legal secretary and one of the attorneys I work for does bankruptcy. (I do most of the initial work on the applications -- however, you may want to check with your attorney). I do work on several every week.

In the US Bankruptcy Courts, you basically can EXEMPT most, if not all, of your personal property. This includes your house, cars, clothing, furniture, and, yes, even your sewing machines.

PM me and I'll give you some further details, if you'd like.
