that is a favourite of mine too,and I often find I have a 'sailor' moment.

Hahahahahah, I thought I was all alone in my quilter's ADD world........if I spent as much time working on my lonestar as I spend on here and on trying to decide what to do next, it would be done already........lol.

Just pick one and start and then you can still do all the other things in between working on your quilt.

Me, too! Let's make it a quilting cruise and all bring our UFOs!

Seriously, what works for me: a LIST that I can check off as I finish, and DEADLINES.

But I am happy to say, I have finally finished my Board name quilt block, she's now my avatar. Was she a priority? Nope. But I wanted SOMETHING finished, and she was the smallest project.

So, HERE IS MY PROPOSAL: make a list of UFO's. Pick the UFO that will be fastest to complete, and work on it till it's done. Cross it off the list. Now, won't that feel good?? Start the next-closest. Keep at it this way, and once you see progress you'll feel much better.

But I still wanna go on the quilt cruise to Alaska. Sign me up!

I like the idea, and I do it somewhat, except instead of working on what is the fastest to complete, I work on the one that inspires me at the moment the most, because I have to ENJOY it as I do it! I don't want it ever to be a chore.

Obviously there's a whole FLEET of us out there !
It's mental and visual overload ... with all the resources we have today, there's just TOO much to see and TOO many ideas to distract us ... so many fabrics, so many choices ... Quilters' ADD !!
Combine that with Stashaphobia/UFOs/procrastination/the fear of imperfection. NO wonder it's so hard to get off high center !

Go out and take a walk clear the mind, then chose a pattern, fabric and
don't think about all the other stash until finished with this one.

I have started using coconut oil, which has been shown to have a beneficial effect on Alzheimer's patients and I am noticing a difference. I can stay on task better (still not great) and I definitely have more energy. DH even commented that I am more active since I started this. I had been feeling overwhelmed with "stuff" and am getting rid of a lot of it. Also, actually started granddaughters quilt within the last week. I am praying that I can get it finished before Christmas. Just wanted you to know that you are not the only one. If you are of menopausal age it could be related. Ann in TN

Ann, I'm very interested in the Coconut Oil! Could you tell me where to get it...health food store, grocery store? Also what is the dosage you use. I'm willing to try anything for more energy!

I'm interested too!

menopausal fog is sure a bumber, it hangs around , even with the HRT . what is the Coconut Oil treatment? never heard of it but would be worth a try.
the walking sure helped me to clear my mind and set better goals and keep them.. also helped my blood pressure.. cheap to no co payment.

Oh my goodness...I thought I was the only one with this problem....Right now the decks are cleared as I just finished a denim quilt for my son (whew they are heavy) and I have a bunch of scraps from previous quilts. So while I'm trying to get motivated to make a quilt, think I will cut up a bunch of scraps into 5" squares for a DP9 or two....
