To tie or not to tie?
I am making a fleece blanket for my niece who will be 2-3 months old at Christmas. It's a yard of fleece and I plan to fringe the two long sides. My question is--should I just leave it fringed or tie a knot in the strip? It will be only be one layer of fleece. What are your opinions?

If it's just one layer, the knot is just going to be for esthetics so there's no right or wrong answer! Maybe tie one side (or part of one side) and compare it to an untied side and see what you like best? Depending on how long your fringe is, a knot might make it kind of stick out; more "bristly" than "fringey"...which might look good or not!
I don't have kids but I don't think there would be any safety issues with knots... |
I like the knots. Gives the blanket an edge and makes the fringe more "fringey" … it can be kind of flat if you just leave it as it.

I too prefer the look of the knots.

It might look cute if you knot every other fringe?

knots! those blankets are really cute!

Sounds like the general consensus is to knot! That's what I was leaning toward but the lazy part of me thought about not tying :)
