This afternoon I took my 10 year old son shoe shopping...
4 stores in 3 hours....

I don't think I need to say more...
I feel like I've been beaten with a stick. :-(

I know this too shall pass... and bedtime is in 3 hours... and after I dropped him off at home I went to the grocery store and a Pepperidge Farm coconut layer cake somehow ended up in my basket... :-D

Hope after all that you were able to get the shoes. You needed that cake. Enjoy!

I hope after all that you were able to enjoy a piece of cake!

Couldn't find shoes to fit his feet or couldn't find shoes to fit his distinctive sense of style? :)

Pepperidge Farm Coconut cake, always have one in the freezer. Never know when you might need it. Yum!

My shopping trip took me to Hancock's in a nearby city and oh my........my pocketbook went into shock!!!! I maily stocked up on batting as they had it on sale, picked up some FQ's also one of those marking pens that you iron to erase them, buttons, thread and all that good stuff and couple pieces of fabric. Now to get busy and sew sew sew.......should keep me out of trouble for awhile anyway! Getting stocked up for winter, good excuse to go shopping @ fabric store I always say! :>)

I remember those days....so glad they can shop for themselves now...

Having raised only girls, a few hours finding shoes would be fantastic! Try 8 to 10 hours finding just one pair of perfect jeans. Prom dress? WEEKS.

Just where a coconut cake ought to be.

I still want the black raspberry ice cream I left in the store the other day.

We did end up with shoes. He's in between sizes and Walmart & Target didn't have 5 1/2's. Payless did but I didn't like them at all. We then went to Shoe Carnival and I'm happy we did. We scored 2 pairs of shoes at b1g1 1/2 off and they were on sale for half off to start with. Most of the sneakers there were expensive - $40-$70 but I got both pairs for $35. I was happy. I might take one pair back and get him 6's because I'm sure those 5 1/2's are not going to last long... He'll definitely outgrow them before he wears them out!

I am waiting until this week to tackle final school shopping. I have been picking up bits and pieces of clothes here an there, but shoes are this week.

My 14YO wears size 12 1/2 and wants skateboarding shoes. Luckily he has been trained right and thinks that spending $50 on shoes is a lot of money so we are able to go to the outlets for him. But still wants a pair of VANS every time.

Whew, I am tired just thinking of that - I think a coconut cake is absolutely in order - have to keep up your strength. :)

Whenever I go grocery shopping with my DH potato chips and cookies seem to end up in my cart.

God Bless parochial school uniforms! There's no discussion of style in this house. I've taken care of shoes, socks, new skivvies, all the school supplies and backpacks, gotten the textbooks from the town school department. All that's left is shirts / shorts to start school. And they are white polo shirts and navy (non cargo) shorts.

Easy peasy lemon squeezie!
