My grandparents said the same thing about us kids watching tv, eating with the tv on, or eating in front of the tv. I don't see how it is our problem what the younger generation fixates on now. We can't stop it. Hey they rarely watch tv so that problem went away. LOL

Also, when we take our grandson with us, he has to surrender his phone, or leave it at home. His parents know where he is, and can call us if they need to talk to him. When we have a big family dinner, phones are not allowed at the table, unless they are using the camera feature! |

When I am on my computer, I will find something online or remember something to tell my daughter - and this can be at midnight or 1 or even 2am! I forget that everyone isn't a night owl. :) Our phones are turned off when we go to bed. So we wouldn't hear if anyone texted us at night. |
