I'm used to the ads and I'm used to their being "targeted", but tonight they are ALL for the various congressional candidates of both parties running in my congressional district in tomorrow's primary. Full color, in-your-face political ads! It's bad enough that I get a couple mailed ads every day, but at least I can use those as template cardboard! I'll be back tomorrow after the primary is over. g'night all.

virtualbernie 09-13-2010 05:53 PM

I'm getting them too. Thought they weren't allowed?

Sadiemae 09-13-2010 06:18 PM

PM admin with specifics on the ads.

sharon b 09-13-2010 06:42 PM

And I have no ads

Shemjo 09-13-2010 06:46 PM

Mine was a general one about voting and youtube. ?????

I had that one also but I had one about 2 politicians in my state. Now they're gone.

ghostrider 09-13-2010 07:05 PM

mine aren't :(

bjnicholson 09-13-2010 07:06 PM

I don't have them. In fact, one is for Keepsake Quilting!

grammyp 09-13-2010 07:07 PM

FireFox, no ads!

SaraSewing 09-13-2010 07:13 PM

I don't have ads showing. But the one that I love is a chubby lady in black and white profile, and she magically looses weight to become a slim babe! Ya, like it's quick and easy. . .

debbieumphress 09-13-2010 07:13 PM

I am getting the political ads too. Texas gov, etc. On some posts there are for Chase bank. I ignore them most of the time unless I see the words, fabric or sale. LOL

Jodie02b 09-13-2010 07:53 PM

Funny I have one right now for Kathleen Rice

cjomomma 09-13-2010 07:54 PM

I haven't had any political ads. But then again I don't pay any attention to the ads on here, I mentally block them out.

Jodie02b 09-13-2010 08:22 PM

Is there a way to block them? My computer keeps acting up every so often when I am on this site, I thought it could be the ads.

M.E.H. 09-13-2010 08:26 PM

OH!! I have one now. I didn't have it a few min. ago.

Quiltforme 09-13-2010 09:01 PM

Ohhh man mine add is about a bacon wrapped hotdog I am not kidding. EWWWW!!! Heart attack on a bun!

fuail 09-13-2010 10:55 PM

Hm... mine keep showing up as Jenny Craig..is someone trying to tell me something?

raptureready 09-14-2010 01:01 AM

I don't get or don't see the ads other than a little banner after the last post. Perhaps you need to set your computer filters higher? At least that what I think they're called. Dh does all the computer settings here and I know he's got whatever it is that blocks popups set so that we don't get any. Except for that Sushi thing---That one I hate.

gale 09-14-2010 01:02 AM

I love adblock.

raptureready 09-14-2010 04:29 AM

I finally realized what you're talking about and yes, I do get them. I'd just always ignored them in the past.
We may not like them and I'm not sure but I think they're what keeps this a free forum. Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't they paying for ad space so that Admin can keep pay for this site without charging us?

ptquilts 09-14-2010 05:46 AM

I just sometimes get small quilt related ads at the bottom.
I love Adblock too!! Wish I had had it when they had all those disgusting ads with jiggling bellies and yellow teeth. Email servers were the worst for those. Who the heck ever clicks on those??

There are other ads, but they aren't supposed to be political.

Digging up an old subject - now the ads make noise. (gads, this one is obnoxious...)

Patchworkmarion 03-03-2011 10:38 AM

I hate election time.

ptquilts 03-03-2011 10:51 AM

may I repeat, Firefox. End of problem.

I think I saw someone post a solution to the problem of ads. Does anyone remember? I don't even know what to look for!
