Toy made from knee socks...
 
I was at an outdoor event this summer and some kids were playing and doing tricks with these weighted knee socks...the name was Japanese I think. Any ideas? Thought the grand kids would like them for Christmas.

very interesting, went to see what they were, and hug around to watch a few instructional videos.
reminds me of nun chucks, but softer and easier.

They remind me of those "clackers" we made as kids. Well, we made them until they were banned. They had a bad habit of exploding as I recall...

I think they are called "hackey sak" I think. My students used to kick them around on campus.

THEY were originally used by hula dancer as far back as i can remember they were called poi clackers. and they danced with them

HACKEY SAKS were small cloth balls played with your feet like soccer only one player. you had to keep it in the air and were about the size of lemons.
