Trans Siberian Orchestra - What a show!!!

We started a holiday tradition in 2007 of attending the TSO concert every year. Last night was our fifth time at the show. And we are fans for life.
About 15 minutes before the show, one of the road crew introduced himself to Gus and explained that part of his job is to pick a child to watch the last song from the front row, and did he want to be the child tonight? And he made sure that we were planning to stay to the very end of the concert. Gus was very excited as he figured this would put him in a good position to maybe catch a used drumstick. Even better!!! The band gives an autographed guitar to one child in the audience at each show and last night it was GUS! We were in the right place at the right time. I'm thinking that at some point I'll be designing a TSO inspired quilt now. It was a great show with an incredible finale. And while I'll try to fix the fuzzy on the second picture, I'm thankful that I did stick a camera in my pocket at the last minute... |
Gus looks great! Great young man. What an honor, he deserves it!

I know what you mean about a great show. I went a couple of years back with my daughter and family, and I could not believe the show that they put on. WOW. If anyone ever gets the chance to see their show, do not pass it up. You will not be sorry. And what an experience for your son. That is such an honor to get onstage with the performers. And to get the guitar. Wow

How awesome is that!!

That is wonderful!

How exciting for Gus! I bet he never forgets that night :) :) :)

We have gone to the show every year since they came to San Diego, this year they did not come, so we are very disappointed. We even considered going to Las Vegas to see them. Decided if they don't come to San Diego next year we may go to the next closest venue.

What a great surprise for Gus!! He's a cutie!

I've been to the show! It's fantastic. I love how the child picked is escorted to the stage. The child picked at the show I was at was way in the back balcony. She never thought she had a chance to be picked.
|
this is such a small world; my friend lives in Raliegh and she went to this concert on Sunday. She said it was really great.
|
Man I wish I had young kids again. Oh no what am I saying. My husband & I have been fans for many years. We go every year as well. Saw the in Philadelphia in November. Was a super show. So happy for Gus a night he will never forget.
|
I am a big fan of TSO, we missed their performance in Peoria his year, but not next. IMHO this is the way classical music should be played.
|
What an incredible adventure for that young man. Thank you for sharing this joy.
|
What a great night for Gus! TSO concerts are awesome. I go almost every year. I have attended the one that they put on in the summer too. Also a great show.
|
For the last 5 years we have made it a family tradition to go. LOVE THEM. What a great time. I know Gus will always remember that night, what a great night for him. Unfortunately, this year they are not coming near enough for us to go. They will be in Atlanta, which is only 2 hours, but DH is working that night. Guess we will miss them this year. That makes me sad.

That is so cool ! What a great memory for Gus !
|
Merry Christmas, Gus !

My brother has gone twice since I have been here. I would love to be able to go it sounds like such a good show. As stange as it sounds I physically cannot take loud music any more. Me who use to stand in front of the big speakers at shows. lol Just another gift from the fibro. I think its wonderful that your son had a chance to get a signed guitar . I know when my GD got to meet Mike Ness from she was over the moon.
