I saw this little thread catcher in another thread and said I would work it out. The pics aren't that great but I will explain it good for you.

Cut eight equalateral triangles. Mine is 5.5 strip of fabric and I used my 5.5 tri ruler.

Fold the pointed end of the tri down toward the bottom of the tri and crease across, this will be you sewing mark.

Sew two tri's together up to the crease. You want the points free to tack down. Add another tri' and then finish that last seam. Sew one of the tri's on the bottom to make the tri box. If this tri box is the lining, leave an opening on the bottom tri. It all fits perfectly.

Now do the same thing with the other set of tri's. Now push one of the tri boxes, right sides together inside the other one. Sew each tri point down to the crease. Turn, push out the points and press. You can sew up the opening or not.

Turn the points down and sew a button on. This is just with a 5 inch tri. You can make a bigger one if desired.....

I am not sure if these had batting or not. I will make another with batting and see if I like it better and perhaps make it a bit bigger. Instead of using batting, and if you prefer it a bit stiffer, then you can use a stiffer interfacing.

Great version - it's got a lot of bling to it.

Always a good idea to credit the designer (or refer back to original thread http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-150306-1.htm if known...it sometimes gets lost in the posting and re-posting and re-re-posting, and that's a shame. ;-)

Oh goodness I didn't see the link she posted. Was it there to begin with? I just figured it out and put it together a different way. I kinda like the way the original designer did it too.
