I live in the town where Rj & J Paul live (Houma) I don't know them & haven't met them but all of them on that show do seem like really good people! Hopefully one day I'll get to meet them.

Sounds like I'm the only one here who has never watched the show.
"Swamp people" sounded to me like people hunting in the Everglades or something so I never turned it on.
Now I'll have to watch it and see why all of you like it.
Thanks for the heads up. It's difficult to find shows that are good.

Everglades are in FL I believe. Swamp people takes place in Cajun country in Louisana. These are my people we are talking about. Yes I'm Cajun/Acadian, born and raised in the great state of Maine and never saw an alligator let alone go hunt/fish for one however they (Cajun's of Lousiana) are descentants of ours.

I saw last years Swamp People and this years and I'm glad Troy and his crew are still part of it. He's the only one in the group along with Liz and folks from that area that have truly maintained the Acadian/Cajun way as far as maintaining there first language French and you certainly can hear it in how the pronounce certain words and every so often you will hear Troy or his son say something in French. All the rest of them seem to not be true Cajuns or if they are have gotten away from there first language or grown up only with English.

We watch this show as well. My husband even has a "Choot 'em" t-shirt.

Tonight is the season finale, so you we'll definitely be in front of the TV.
